The strategic voice for SEND families in Tameside

About us

Welcome

Welcome to the DfE funded Tameside Umbrella Parent Carer Forum. We’re a group of volunteer parent carers who have come together to create a supportive space for all parents and carers in Tameside.

Our mission is to ensure that your voices are heard, to build a strong network among families, and to work collaboratively with local services to make a real difference for our children and young people with additional needs or disabilities.

As the DfE funded parent carer forum, our role is to represent the interests and perspectives of families across Tameside.

By sharing our experiences and advocating for change, we work to influence local policies and improve services that impact our children.

Being parent carers ourselves, we understand the journey firsthand, and we’re here to support and empower each other along the way.

Parent Carer Forums ARE...

Focused on a select group of conditions or disabilities or put the needs of one group above others, but they might prioritise their work depending on local need.
