The strategic voice for SEND families in Tameside

TUPCF Family Fun Day

The Tameside Umbrella Parent Carer Forum (TUPCF) marked a significant milestone by holding their first Family Fun Day at the Grafton Centre in Hyde on Saturday, 27th September.

The event proved a resounding success, drawing just under 100 families from across the borough.

Local organisations dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of Tameside families were on hand, offering stalls, demonstrations, and information throughout the day.

Ruth Williams, Secretary of the Parent Carer Forum (photo above) summed up the day: “This was such a lovely child and parent-focused event. The kids absolutely adored walking the goats and seeing the therapy dogs. It was great to see lots of networking going on and something gained for all who attended. Thank you everyone who attended and to the volunteers for such a successful day.”

The TUPCF team thanked everyone who made it happen: all the amazing stall holders, the police, volunteers, the Grafton Centre, Peak Forest School and last but not least, all the fantastic families who attended.

They hope to build on this success and continue fostering connections between families and support services, ensuring that the voices of parent-carers remain at the heart of future events in Tameside.
